Dear Friend of Portsmouth Pro Musica,

We hope you were able to attend our two recent highly acclaimed performances of Mozart’s Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana. It is with pride and pleasure that we continue to plan presentations of choral masterworks with orchestral accompaniment. These programs not only inspire and challenge us as singers and musicians, but also further our mission to engage and educate our audiences. However, we need your help to continue bringing top-notch choral performances to Seacoast audiences.

We are very excited about the programming for our 27th season and hope you can join us at our concerts.

WINTER PROGRAM – December 9th and 11th, 2011: The Glory of Venice: Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus with soloists and organ

The concert will open with the exultant double-choir motet Sing Unto The Lord a New Song by Heinrich Schutz. Also on the program will be a new set of carols: exciting contemporary settings by Mack Wilberg, composer-in-residence with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

SPRING PROGRAM – April 13th and 14th, 2012: Feel the Spirit!

Jump into spring with music of rebirth in 2012! Selections from Franz Joseph Haydn’s beloved and popular 1798 oratorio The Creation will be paired with John Rutter’s jazzy cycle of spirituals Feel the Spirit (2001).
